On April 27, 2009 at the headquarter of Finance Ministry, Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha received Mr Mark Kent - the UK Ambassador to Vietnam. The two sides discussed on current economy status and plan in the future.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged issues that the world is facing such as new economic stipulation measures; domestic subsidy programs of big countries are obstructing emerging markets... Deputy Minister Ha stressed that Vietnam, as a member will actively take part in restructuring international organizations.
Ambassador Mark Kent talked about impact of economy status on climate change, poverty reduction and he hopes to receive Vietnam Ministry of Finance’s supports in these issues. He hopes to be a bridge between Finance Ministry and London economists and strengthen cooperation relation of the two countries.
Deputy Minister Tran Xuan Ha highly appreciated the UK supports to Vietnam in the past time. He expects Ambassador Mark Kent will be a link to bring the UK investors to Vietnam, grant further support to Vietnam in developing monetary and financial market, then contribute to improve Vietnam picture in the world market.
