On May 14, 2009, in Hanoi, Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh received Mr Jack Howell – the Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Vietnam on the occasion of his undertaking new position in Vietnam.

At the meeting, The CEO Jack Howell said, despite of the negative impacts from the global crisis, the Prudential’s business result is still optimistic. In Vietnam till now, the Prudential company has established 134 branches in all 64 provinces in Vietnam. Beside business activities, the Prudential company also has support programs which help Vietnam’s insurance sector develop. He said, Prudential company is always ready to share experience on management and training to improve insurance experts’ capacity of Vietnam.

Minister Vu Van Ninh congratulated the CEO and also achievements of the Prudential Vietnam in particular and the Global Prudential in the past time. The Prudential is one of the world leading insurance corporations and has played and important roll in Vietnam insurance market development. The Minister said, Vietnam insurance market is still working in small scale, Ministry of Finance will create favorable conditions such as creating legal lobby to make sure this sector to develop strongly, fairly and protect benefits of investors and insurers.

Minister Ninh hopes that with position of the CEO, Vietnam insurance sector will receive further supports from the Prudential to enlarge market scale and insurance products and services.
