Ha Nam Cheerfully Inaugurated BusinessPortal to Modernize Business Registration Procedures

On 8 January 2010, the Department of Planning and Investment (DPI) in Ha Nam officially inaugurated the Inter-Agency Business Registration System (BusinessPortal). Attending the opening ceremony are local provincial leaders, e.g. Mr. Le Van Tan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People of Committee, Mr. Nguyen The Mao, Director of the Ha Nam DPI, Mr. Nguyen Van Oang, Deputy Director of Ha Nam DPI, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Director of Ha Nam DPI, representatives from the Enterprise Development Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Other participants are from line department in the province, e.g. the Department of Information and Telecommunication, Department of Public Security, Tax Agency, Ha Nam Newspaper, Ha Nam Television and Radio, etc.

In his opening speech, Mr. Le Van Tan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, highly appreciates the efficiency of BusinessPortal, especially in terms of improving business information transparency, simplified business procedures for enterprises. Adoption BusinessPortal is in line with the policy of the Province in supporting enterprise and investment in the province. He suggested that:

1. DPI take immediate actions to inform the business community, investors, public agencies in and outside the province about this new e-government system in DPI.

2. Strengthen the coordination between DPI and the Tax Agency in using the system in supporting the business;
3. Further improve the system to make it more and more business-friendly.

4. Continue with the development of other modules e.g. household business registration, investment project management, e-office as part of the system.

Mr. Nguyen Van Oang, Deputy Director of Ha Nam DPI also mentioned that the portal provides important business and investment information for the business community. Mr. Bui Hong Thanh, Head of the Business Registration Division, was happy that his division would benefit the most from this new technology and that their workload will be reduced by half.

Ms. Le Van Anh, Director of OrientSoft, briefed the participants about the results in implementing the BusinessPortal in the last three years. She disclosed that more than 12 provinces are now using BusinessPortal.

Different modules and functions of the BusinessPortal was then introduced by Mr. Pham Thanh Hai, technical director and his development team.

The portal is now officially opened at www.hanamdpi.gov.vn or is accessible through the province official website at www.hanam.gov.vn.
